2018’s Best Log Management & Server Monitoring Conferences & Events

Written by Blue Matador | Jan 22, 2018 4:02:00 PM

We're more than just your basic AWS network monitoring provider here at Blue Matador. We are concerned with all things related to downtime prevention, so we thought it appropriate to publish our own list of DevOps conferences for 2018.

Our hope is that among other DevOps conference lists out there, we can help you find ones that have tracks specifically pertaining to logging, monitoring, and ultimately preventing downtime.

AWS re:Invent 2018

Amazon’s AWS re:Invent 2017 seems like it just barely ended, but Amazon’s save-the-date page is already up. For the uninitiated, Amazon’s yearly conference started in 2012 and is essentially the center of the cloud computing universe. They have a specific monitoring track, which is why we’re including them on this list.

Las Vegas, NV: Nov. 26 – 30, 2018

Registration: $1,799

Monitorama 2018

Monitorama has been around since 2013 and focuses on, you guessed it, monitoring. They’re all about improving your monitoring toolkit by pushing the boundaries of monitoring, and we like that they call the engineers focused on monitoring “artisans.”

Portland, OR: June 4 – 6, 2018

Registration: $600

RSA Conference 2018

The first RSA Conference was inaugurated in 1991, so it’s been around for a long time.Logging and server monitoring fall under their Technology Infrastructure & Operations track.

San Francisco, CA: April 16 – 20, 2018

Registration: $1,695 – $2,695

O’Reilly Velocity Conference 2018

Velocity has taken a more decidedly DevOps-y tone in recent years, and focuses on everything from building to complex systems to improving end-to-end performance. A conference is held for each coast in the United States, and each has a huge monitoring focus.

San Jose, CA: June 12 – 14, 2018

Registration: $1,795 – $2,495

New York, NY: October 1 – 3, 2018

Registration: $1,795 – $2,495

Black Hat USA 2018

Black Hat has been hosting IT security conferences for over 20 years. Like RSA Conference, IT security’s mandate to monitor logs and servers means there’s a lot of crossover between security and monitoring at Black Hat.

Las Vegas, NV: August 4 – 9, 2018

Registration: $2,095 – $2,795
